Today, The Corky Childcare Collective team is coming together for one of our four annual professional development days. We're gathering teachers and leaders from across our village, including our newest locations, for a full day of learning, connection, and hands-on practice.

And because this is Corky, we're doing it with a little Hocus Pocus magic woven in. Professional development days are an important investment in the people who care for your child. Our team spends the day strengthening the skills that shape everyday life in our learning environments, from helping children understand big feelings to communicating thoughtfully with families and responding calmly in an emergency.

This year's learning includes a half-day Conscious Discipline training led by Samantha Fodovich, a specialist who helped write curriculum for the state. Conscious Discipline gives our team practical tools for building connection, guiding behavior, and helping children learn the emotional skills they'll carry far beyond their preschool years.

We're also learning from some of the wonderful teachers within our own village. Morgan, a toddler teacher at The Corky Violet, is sharing the thoughtful routines behind the calm, connected starts she creates for her children. Celena is leading a conversation about meaningful family communication, including how the everyday updates shared through Brightwheel can help you feel connected to your child's day.

Safety is part of the day, too. Our team is reviewing first aid and emergency response, including hands-on practice with the choking-response devices kept in our schools. Certifications matter, and so does feeling prepared to act with confidence when every second counts. We believe protecting magical childhoods begins with a team that's trained, supported, and ready.

Between sessions, our kitchen team is caring for the people who care for your children, with breakfast and lunch prepared for everyone. There will be themed touches, shared laughter, and time for teammates from across our locations to learn from one another.

At The Corky Violet, we're deeply grateful for a team with such strong roots. Many of our teachers have been part of the Corky family since our earliest days, and their experience is one of our greatest treasures.

We also believe that experience should never mean standing still. Your child deserves teachers who remain curious, keep learning, and have the support they need to do this legacy work well.

Thank you for trusting us with your child and for allowing our team to be a small part of your family's story. The little moments matter most, and days like this help us meet those moments with greater knowledge, confidence, kindness, and care.
