The idea began far from home. Owner Jessyca Creasy-Lopez toured a true Reggio-inspired nature preschool in San Diego, and what she saw there sparked a vision for Corky South. That vision is now taking shape as three brand new playgrounds, each one designed for a specific age group so every child has a space that fits how they play.
Every playground shares the same thoughtful features: a water hookup, natural turf, and an outdoor handwashing station, along with climbing structures, slides, and dedicated trike paths. An eight-foot privacy fence wraps all three spaces, so our children can explore and feel free while they stay safe.
These playgrounds hold to Corky South’s sustainability story, too. We did not buy new plastic for them. Our team gave the fixtures already on the property a second life, repurposing them into the new design.
Watching it come together has been the best part. Our crews filled in an old pool that once sat on the property and poured fresh concrete and trike paths in its place. The outdoor handwashing stations are already in, natural turf is on its way, and the first climbing equipment arrived in early August. Piece by piece, three simple spaces are becoming somewhere our children will love to spend their days.
Corky South is being built with care in every corner, especially the ones where our children will play.
