Four years ago this August, The Corky Violet opened its doors as the very first Corky Child Care Garden. Today our flagship campus in Meridianville is celebrating that anniversary. The story it has built still centers on the same idea it started with. This is a family.
Our team celebrated the milestone on August 10 with mini cupcakes for every child and every teacher on campus. It was a small, sweet way to mark four years of growing together.
Owner Jessyca Creasy-Lopez named the school after her grandmothers, Cordelia “Corky” and Viola “Violet.” Cordelia still visits the campus today. Every visit connects our children to the same roots the school grew from.
That kind of staying power runs through the whole team. Many of our teachers have been with The Corky Violet since day one. They have watched the same children grow, from the first day in the infant room to the last day before kindergarten. That kind of long relationship is rare in early childhood education.
This year our team celebrated a milestone that belongs only to Violet. Our first crib to Pre-K graduating class walked across the stage. Nineteen children were part of that group. Most of them had been part of our school since they were babies. Their families watched years of small moments add up to one big one.
Four years in, The Corky Violet still sits on the same two acre property where it started. Our kids explore, play, and grow outside every day on that same land. The campus has grown a little more each year. The people who built it are still here to see it happen.
